Ineffable Enoughable

I wrap up my morning journaling sessions by writing out a couple of pertinent affirmations, five times each (why five? I don’t know – it just seems like a goodly number), and then shuffle the current tarot or oracle deck to choose a Card of the Day (COTD).
The deck I’m currently using is Brian Froud and Jessica MacBeth’s The Faeries Oracle, and the card I drew this morning is the Zero, with the words “Faery Guide” across the bottom. The accompanying guidebook tells me that this card represents my very own Faery Guide, and I should draw said guide on the card, or at least some kind of symbol or something. Except the cards are laminated. I would have to use a ballpoint pen, and even if I somehow drew something I was satisfied with, it would inevitably smear and get ink on the other cards. And then there is the whole idea of defacing published media. Just can’t do it.
ANYWAY, I decided that my very own Faery Guide is quite probably as morphable as my moods, with a visage as ephemeral as my attention span, and so could never be adequately captured in two dimensions on a slick-surfaced piece of decorated cardstock.
Ineffable, if you will. (Any Good Omens fans out there?) She sends the message that no matter how I appear (or don’t appear, as the case may be), I am enough, just as I am.
And so are we all.
